2010

January. A willow tree in the neighbour hood was removed and it's owners kindly donated the chippings..
... which were then used as a mulch on top of the membrane around the fruit bushes. (Many wheelbarrow loads of it!)
February. Preparing the ground for beans.
A general tidy up and disposal of rotten wood frames from beside the north wall.
A great deal of miscellaneous rubbish such as builders waste and old carpets is now removed into a skip.
Pruning of fruit trees.
A view looking along the east wall, showing the vines, before being dug...
... and after!
Plums and gages planted behind one of the herbaceous borders.
The border in front next to the school before being cleared and dug....
... and after!
Buddleias now planted in that border
Snowdrops in full bloom at the foot of the apple trees
Rubbish, mainly old carpets, waiting to go into the next skip.

A new path!
We knew that the new paths would make a big difference to the look and atmosphere of the garden - somehow it now feels a lot more "cared for" and "tidy"!
